The Annual Sports Day celenrated on 13th November 2025 was a grand success at Don Bosco School, Gunadala, showcasing the school’s unwavering commitment to holistic development. The event was a vibrant celebration of enthusiasm, discipline, and sportsmanship, reflecting the institution’s steadfast values.The day began with a dignified welcome and felicitation of Vijayawada DCP K.G.V. Sarita, Don Bosco Vice Provincial Rev. Fr. Michael Kishore, and other esteemed dignitaries by our Rector and Principal, Reverend Father Bhaskar, Administrator Reverend Father Dilip, and our young and dynamic mentor, Reverend Father Prem.
This was followed by the Flag Hoisting ceremony, where the National Flag was hoisted by Chief Guest DCP K.G.V. Sarita, and the school Flag was hoisted by Rev. Fr. Michael Kishore.
The Band Display by High School students was a treat to watch, setting the tone for an unforgettable day. The energetic beats and melodies filled the air, getting everyone in the right spirit.
The March Past, coordinated with precision by the school staff, highlighted the remarkable discipline, synchronization, and house spirit of our students.
The Cultural Display was a treat to watch, with individual groups presenting their unique performances. The excitement reached its peak when all 200 students came together to dance to the Oscar-winning song “Naatu Naatu”! The energy was electric, and the crowd went wild!
The presence of Chief Guest DCP Sarita was a particular honour; her perceptive and motivating address encouraged the student body to embody courage, perseverance, integrity, and responsibility—core values vital to both the sporting arena and life’s endeavours.
A notable highlight was the creative Don Bosco Word Formation, executed by High School students as a tribute to the school’s Patron, which garnered widespread appreciation. The Sports Oath was administered by Father Principal Reverend Father Bhaskar to the school cabinet, reaffirming the institution’s dedication to fairness and sportsmanship, while the symbolic Torch Relay captured the essence of determination, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.
With the Sports Day officially declared open by the Chief Guest, the competitions commenced in earnest, showcasing the athletic talent, tenacity, and spirit of all participants. Throughout the events, the Physical Education Teachers (PETs) ensured seamless coordination, overseeing organization, ground management, student guidance, as well as the arrangement and distribution of medals and trophies.
The Annual Sports Day concluded on a note of collective pride and accomplishment, standing as a powerful testament to the school’s enduring mission: to foster not only academic prowess, but also discipline, teamwork, leadership, and the spirit of healthy competition in every student.
