Don Bosco School, Carmel Nagar, Gunadala, 5 September 2020: Don Bosco School, Carmel Nagar, Gunadala Celebrated V irtual Teachers’ day. The question that raised in our mind was, “How to celebrate Teachers’ Day to the beloved staff during school lock down?” Marking the birthday of great academician and philosopher Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the Don Bosco family celebrated Teachers’ Day using the virtual platform on Saturday. Although every child missed the physical presence of each other and their teachers on this occasion, the management planned to host various online programmes in honour of the teachers.
For these virtual celebrations, all the classes were divided into four groups, each group was represented by the chief guest viz., Fr Bhaskar, Principal, for Kindergarten (LKG and UKG), Pre high school (Classes 5, 6, 7), Fr Michael Maddhichetty for Pre-primary (Class 1 and 2), and Fr Kishore, Correspondent for Primary (Class 3, 4). Mrs Neeraja, the Coordinator organized the entire programme. Parents were invited for online celebrations with IDs and passwords.
The programme started with a prayer followed by floral tributes to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Rev. Fr Bhaskar (Principal) addressed all the groups on the importance of the Teachers’ Day with a video presentation. In the video, while addressing teachers and the children, he introduced all the working staff displaying their photos on the screen, teaching, non- teaching staff, and appreciated their commitment and hard work.
In the online programme children showed their gratitude towards teachers with cultural performances, live speeches, appreciation cards, songs, and skits. The Children had a live interaction with their respective class teachers. Some students wrote a few lines about their favourite teachers. The parents have sent appreciation videos for the teachers in showing great respect and honour for the Don Bosco family. Some children campaigned their favourite teachers along with their names, class, and sections. The historical Virtual Teachers’ day Celebrations ended with a vote of thanks. Finally, Don Bosco school proved that Virtue, Knowledge and Excellence are real pathways for the development of every Child.
